Last week, Milan wasn’t just the fashion capital of the world: In the historical beauty of the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi, our brilliant user community gathered to share, learn, and connect.

After the plenary session highlighting the achievements of the past year and the future roadmap, the interactive sessions provided a platform for users to dive deep into the system, discover new features and refresh knowledge on existing functionalities. The two days were topped off with the traditional sticky note vote, in which users help us prioritize future developments.

But it wasn’t all tech talk. During lovely lunches and dinner and over delicious pastries and coffee there was plenty of time to connect and make new acquaintances.

In 2025, the User Group Meeting will take place in the Netherlands.

Our host, The Royal Conservatoire The Hague, was founded in 1826, making it the oldest conservatory in the Netherlands. In September 2021, the impressive new home of the conservatory opened its doors in the heart of The Hague.

What happens during the User Group Meeting?

The User Group Meeting is a unique forum for staff of the world’s best schools of music, drama and arts. Every year, we get together at a different school, visiting some of the most famous and beautiful places for arts education. To us, this has grown into the world’s best user community over the years.

Networking

The User Group Meeting is a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet the faces behind the software and introduce newcomers to colleagues from other schools. In the mornings and during breaks there is plenty of time for a friendly chat over coffee, tea and delicious pastries. The annual highlight is the dinner in a local restaurant.

Knowledge sharing and training

In the plenary session, new features in the system are introduced. During break-out sessions, participants dive into focused discussions, each centered around specific topics and training. An ASIMUT team member will start by introducing the topic, initiating an open discussion on current usage, potential improvements, and future development.

Prioritization of future development

In the sticky note vote, participants write down their wishes for future developments and general improvements on colorful sticky notes. As a community, we create a visual map reflecting everyone’s preferences. The ballots are counted post-conference, providing a crucial contribution to prioritizing the ongoing ASIMUT improvements.
