Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to have to announce that the UGM 2020 in Aarhus, Denmark is cancelled.

We are all very disappointed, but based on Danish government guidelines and the general situation, we feel this is the right thing to do. Denmark is currently the OECD country with the fastest growth in newly registered Corona infections and we cannot run the risk of any of you contracting the disease by taking part in our user group meeting.

Last night the Danish prime minister announced a set of drastic and unprecedented measures, including the complete shutdown of all educational and child care institutions for at least two weeks, as well as temporary closure of all non-essential public sector activities. All gatherings of people are strongly discouraged. Although the user group meeting is still more than two weeks into the future, there is no evidence to suggest that this situation will be over by that time. A significant number of institutions, including this year’s host institution, have already cancelled their participation.

We know that you have also been looking forward to this event, so we are all very disappointed. We also realise that some of you have incurred expenses and made plans, and we deeply regret the loss and inconvenience. We are evaluating doing a part of the UGM agenda as one or more live-streaming events, more information will follow.

Apart from the UGM cancellation, ASIMUT is fully operational – we do not expect any disruption of services and we are available for support. Development also progresses at almost normal pace, with some of the ASIMUT staff working from home, others still coming to the office.

We are looking very much forward to seeing all of you at the 2021 user group meeting!
