The Danish summer has a reputation for being somewhat unpredictable, but this year we’ve come prepared. Our new ASIMUT umbrellas made their debut at this spring’s User Group Meeting in Manchester – and we’re hoping they’ll spend most of the coming weeks folded away, though they work just as well as parasols if the sun decides to stay.
They’ve become a fun reminder of a wonderful UGM; one we still think back on with a big smile and a lot of pride. Manchester was fantastic, the participants even better, our hosts at the Royal Northern College of Music outstanding, and if you were there for the umbrella group photo, you’ll know it turned out surprisingly well. Thank you again to everyone who made it such a memorable spring highlight. We can hardly wait to do it all again next year at AP Schools of Arts in Antwerp!
The first half of 2026 has been a busy one in many other ways too. We’ve welcomed new clients to the ASIMUT community, completed several successful implementations and released a number of new versions of the platform, bringing new features and continuous improvements along the way.
Everyone’s talking about AI. So are we. But at ASIMUT, AI never stands alone – there’s always a human behind the code. AI hasn’t spent almost two decades working with conservatoires and arts academies; we have. That’s the experience we build our software on every day.
Earlier this year, we also carried out a comprehensive user survey. While close dialogue with our user community remains our most important source of insight, the survey gave us a broader perspective, helping us identify trends and better understand how ASIMUT is used across different institutions. If you missed the results, you can read more in our recent blog post.
It’s also been a special six months on a more personal level, with something of a baby boom at ASIMUT – one maternity leave and two paternity leaves, with our new parents now gradually finding their way back to the office. We’re delighted to have them back.
After the summer, a busy autumn lies ahead, with conferences including ICfAD, AEC and ELIA, new developments in ASIMUT and, hopefully, the opportunity to meet many of you along the way. Until then, we wish you a wonderful summer – with or without the need for an umbrella.
